WE STILL PROVIDE ENG1 MEDICALS FOR SEAFARERS

THERE IS NO CHANGE FOLLOWING THE HEALTH BOARD TAKEOVER

We can provide MCA ENG1 and other medical examinations for any Seafarer.

To book a medical please telephone us on 01407 762341

The Standard Fee set by the MCA is now £95 but will increase to £105 from 13th November 2019

if you fail to attend without giving good reason or reasonable notice a charge will still be made. (The fee may be reduced for reassessments at less than the usual 2 year interval.)

We can perform additional tests sometimes requested as part of seafarers medicals as required including (these tests will result in additional charges).

  • drug and alcohol screening
  • blood monitoring
  • ECG
  • lung function tests
  • audiometry (you should avoid exposure to loud noise for 16 hours if audiometry is being carried out)

WHEN ATTENDING FOR A MEDICAL PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU

  • Your Discharge Book if you have one.
  • Your Passport or other certifed photographic proof of identity if you do not hold a Discharge Book.
  • Your last ENG1 Certificate - unless this is your first medical.
  • Spectacles or contact lenses, if worn, plus spares (we recommend that you consider a visit to your optician before your medical).
  • Any medications, recent letters, discharge notes etc which relate to medical treatment since your last medical examination.

Failure to bring any of the above items will mean we cannot proceed with your medical.

  • If you wear contact lenses ideally you should not wear them on the day of the medical in order that we can test your unaided vision. You should wear glasses on the day of your medical but you may put your lenses in after the medical.
  • We also recommend a dental check before your medical if you have not had one in the last year.
